HOW
TO SEND LARGE FILES TO YOUR CORRESPONDENT OVER
THE NET
I am sure that one day you found yourself stuck
in front of your system waiting for a large mail
with "heavy attachment" to download.
The heavy download being only something in one
megabyte range.
Yes! till now It is not easy to receive or
send heavy files - from one to several megabytes
- with any of the current desktop mail system.
The receiver mail system may chuck off / hang
up when downloading the mail. Even sending the
mail with some popular mail system is not easy.
Some of them do not cooperate at all; they are
configured to reject files heavier than 1 MB.
With ICQ Instant Messaging System you may succeed
in transferring files up to 5 MB.
To circumvent such a limitation, the only recourse
till now is the so-called "File Splinter"
which
perform the trick of splitting several megabytes
in small chunks of files. The drawback, however,
resides in the fact that your counterpart should
also have the same brand splinter software installed
into his system; otherwise he cannot recombine
- on his hard disk - the several chunks of the
spitted files.
Now all that is dark ages. You can now safely
and securely transfer any amount of file 5, 10,
100MB over the net to anywhere in the world through
the HyperSend webmail system.
It is simple and Free for 10MB transfer per month.
HyperSend lets you send files securely
using browser technology, bypassing the risks
of cluttering your email system. It establishes
a secure data channel all the way from your PC
to the recipient's PC using the same robust security
measures (SSL) that protect Internet financial
transactions. It is full of options such as passport
protecting your deliveries.
If
you are interested, just log on to HyperSend website
and sign in for a free account. They will send
you a confirmation email and instructions on how
to activate your account.
Just
a tip: During the activation, HyperSend installs
a small application - .500bytes - to your system
plus a tray controlling little device. That intray
application is automatically installed into the
Start-Up folder. This proved to be a little annoyance
as it wants to log on to HyperSend site as soon
as you start your computer.
I have therefore removed it form the Star-Up folder.
If you want to do the same here is how to proceed:
Click Start and Choose Settings
and then Taskbar & StartMenu
On the TaskBar Properties Panel punch Start
Menu Programs
On the new panel choose Advanced and
click on Programs
Then click on Start-Up folder
Right click on HyperSend and choose
Delete; then Yes to delete.
Close the programs panel
Click OK on the Advanced panel and that
is
.
Now
HyperSend had been removed from the Start-Up folder
and won't load when you start your computer. You
invoke it through its own folder in the general
Start menue.
